Our choir....

Just Sing’s aim is to do two main things: to sing and to have FUN ! If we haven’t convinced you to join us so far, here are some more incentives as to why we would be the choir for you...

  • There are no obstacles... no sheet music, no auditions, no technical speak and no experience is needed to join us! We welcome anyone over the age of 18.

  • We choose a wide range of music styles to suit all tastes! We also welcome song suggestions from our choir members and work together to choose our repertoire.

  • We get many opportunities to perform throughout the year in and around Dorset (including Wimborne Folk Festival and Camp Bestival). We hold an annual concert at Christmas time to raise money for a specific charity voted for by the choir, in which all family and friends get to see the choir performing in a theatre setting.

  • First session is completely free!

  • No sign up fee or termly commitment via direct debit, we are a monthly payable choir.

  • We love to socialise and sometimes go to the local pub for a drink after our choir session and have the odd party or two throughout the year!

  • Over the last 8 years we have raised over £40,000 for local charities and causes close to the choir communities hearts ♥️

Kelly – Louise

Kelly has had a passion for singing from a very young age and began performing in bands and on the stage from the age of 12, training with Gareth Malone in singing and drama before he became the successful choirmaster and celebrity he is today!

Kelly's passions took her to London to study at the London School of Musical Theatre, and after a few years of performing in London, she returned home and began to teach. After teaching children singing for some years at various dance and performing arts schools, Kelly decided to try something a little different.

She nervously began a choir in Lytchett Matravers in September 2013, hoping a handful of people would turn up to the village hall, and there stood 45 people awaiting their first session. From the success of the first choir, Wimborne choir then formed in January 2014. The rest you could say is history! Eight years later, Kelly also runs a choir for adults with learning disabilities and throughout a difficult 2020, kept people connected online singing and raising money together once again for causes close to the choirs heart.

“So many of us love to sing as children but somewhere along the way, we lose that joy into adulthood and forget how good it makes us feel! I’m passionate about bringing that part of us back to life again and sharing the many benefits singing has to offer to our health and happiness. We welcome anyone to join us and it is such fun every week, that I feel so blessed and proud to have created Just Sing.... we are more than just a choir, we are a family!”

Amy

Amy started playing the piano at the age of 6, encouraged by her Mum.  This led her to become a classically trained pianist. But in addition to playing the piano, she also loves singing and joined a local gospel choir as a teenager, was part of a soul choir at university and competed at national level with an all girl acapella choir.

She now uses her talents not only with Just Sing choirs but also as Creativity Teacher (music, movement and drama) at Montacute School in Poole.

She joined the Just Sing choir in Lytchett Matravers when it began 8 years ago as a choir member, but quickly Amy's talents and beautiful voice had her becoming part of the team. When the choir were practising to sing with G4, Amy began helping as a musical director of the choir. Amy now works alongside Kelly, together creating the unique song arrangements, events and workshops that make Just Sing unique and truly special!

"Music just makes me happy but I also love the sense of community the choir has and the friends I've made through it."
